The Goldsmith Press & Rare Type Collection, located on the campus of Austin Peay State University, (APSU) is a unique letterpress facility that includes
60,000 hand-carved wood letters, antique printing presses and bindery equipment.

In 1997, the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the APSU Department of Art purchased wood type and printing equipment from Metropolitan Showprint in Boston. The retired print shop was refurbished and reinstated as the Goldsmith Press & Rare Type Collection.

On exhibit are letterpress prints, hand-made books and various mixed media projects by APSU faculty, students and visiting artists.
