HerStory, a YW Domestic Violence Center Support Group, uses art to help participants discover and express their feelings. The purses and mandalas seen in this Arts at the Airport exhibit are the results of a therapeutic project based on each participant's feelings. Thirteen women participated and wrote descriptions of their artwork. Each woman creatively decorated a purse or crafted a mandala.

"I have moved from my past and I am not going back . . . ."
Domestic Violence is not about a bad marriage, drugs or finances. It is about power and control. It is a family secret passed from generation to generation. The YW is working to break the multi-generational cycle of domestic violence.
The YW Domestic Violence Center is a regional facility that offers immediate help for women and children in crisis. Their services include counseling, support groups, safety planning and training.
