Artist Statement
“My photography is a direct extension of my personality and my psyche. My ways are not set in stone and flexibility is what has granted me the opportunities to be able to go far and wide and interact with my situations resulting, hopefully, in the best image possible.”
“The images in the airport exhibition are interiors of company miners’ homes in the now abandoned town of Gilman, Colorado. They are unique in the fact that someone decided that bright, bold colors would be a good idea for folks living and working most of their adult lives deep underground.”
“The psychology of architecture and our surroundings is something that I have been interested since picking up a camera years ago. I find it quite amazing that what we perceive on a day to day basis can affect and influence our lives in such a profound way. Whether it be bright colors to lift the spirits or soothing pastels to keep inmates calm or the interior of a casino designed to confuse and retain people, it all goes to show that we are controlled by the subtleties of our environment.” |
