Kit Reuther is a self-taught painter based in Nashville. Recent solo exhibitions include the Renee George Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina, Perry Nichole Gallery in Memphis and Cumberland Gallery in Nashville. Her work is included in the collections of the Tennessee State Museum, the National Endowment for the Arts and the AT&T Building. Reuther has participated in several residency programs including the Contemporary Artists Center Residency in North Adams, Massachusetts, and the VCCA International Residency Program in Schwandorf, Germany.

Artist Statement
“My recent work has stripped away the narrative that comes with recognition of subjects. Images are implied, but intentionally avoid literal identification. Instead, organic shapes and mark-making utterances come together to form a personal language on the canvas.” |
