Metaphors of interconnection and interdependence are central to the work of Pidge Cash. Using the techniques of weaving, braiding, and knitting, Cash manipulates such materials as copper and aluminum, which are often perceived as inflexible, and presents them in a way that implies softness and malleability.
Cash, who resides in Murfreesboro, TN, received her Master of Fine Arts degree at the Memphis College of Art in Memphis, TN. She currently teaches at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Cumberland University Gallery in Lebanon, TN, Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN, and the Center for the Arts at Murfreesboro. Her work is included in the permanent collections of Quorum Health Resources in Brentwood. |
