  Artist Statement
“I have always been drawn to people who live and work with a close connection to the land. In addition, I am inspired by the experience of relating to people whose culture and daily lives are distinctly different from my own. It is increasingly important to remember our humanity, what we hold in common despite our differences. The portraits and landscapes in this exhibit are moments that reflect my experiences with people and the land in Kenya, Northwestern China, and Montana.”
