Monica Quattrochio is a fine art photographer working in Clarksville, TN. She received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Austin Peay State University in 1998. Her previous works were black and white silver prints; however, today, Quattrochio uses primarily digital media to create her images. Her images range in scale and style of presentation, and have been exhibited throughout the Southeast region of the United States. Recent solo exhibitions include, My Garden Too at the University of Memphis, My Garden at the Downtown Artists' Co-op Gallery in Clarksville, and Casino at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA.

Artist Statement
"My recent work is an exploration into the physical changes I have gone through; pregnancy, birth and the journey into motherhood. It is an intimate and private experience I have enjoyed expressing in such a large and bold way. For me, flowers are symbols of physical morphosis and the experience of heightened senses. Seeing botanical flesh, hair and veins through my lens is a constant reminder of the preciousness of life. In photographing flowers, the spectacular array of colors and the aggressive shapes against delicate textures continually leave me awestruck. " |
