Services

The Office of Business Diversity Development exists to provide the following services:

  • Serve as a liaison for successful prime contractors and small /disadvantaged business to provide contracting opportunities to firms historically under utilized in their areas of specialty.
  • Serve as the liaison between small businesses and Airport Authority staff.
  • Serve as a networking resource for small firms and other governmental agencies.
  • Assist small/disadvantaged firms in obtaining DBE and SMWBE certifications.
  • Referral to other certifying agencies.
  • Referral to SBA and other governmental agencies for loan, bonding advice, etc.

 

Goals and Objectives

To promote, encourage and stimulate participation of local Small, Minority and Woman-owned Business Enterprises (SMWBE) within our organization and the economic community served; to provide maximum opportunities to participate in contracts, programs and all related business activities of the Airport Authority and to implement goals, policies and operational procedures to ensure the objectives of this program.

To ensure economic participation in contracting opportunities created by FAA financial assistance programs for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). DBE regulations require recipients of FAA federal financial assistance to establish goals for the participation of disadvantaged entrepreneurs and certify the eligibility of the DBE contracts.
