Vice President, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
Under general administrative direction and reporting directly to the President and CEO, plans, organizes and directs the financial and accounting activities of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and the MNAA Properties Corporation (MPC). Works in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and specific directives, while exercising highly independent judgment.
Essential Job Function:
Directs a staff in carrying on multifaceted financial activities of MNAA, including but not limited to:
- Internal and external reporting of actual financial results,
- Annual and strategic budgeting and financial planning
- Payroll
- Procurement and Inventory Control
- Property management and development
- Billing, accounts receivable/payable and collections
- Capital spending and fixed asset accounting
- Financial forecasting and analysis
- Cash management
- Debt management
Confers with and advises the President and CEO and executive staff members in developing a financial business plan that allows MNAA to manage and control operating and non-operating revenues and expenses, capital spending and debt service in support of the Long-term Strategic Business Plan. Ensures all applicable federal, state and local taxes are reported and paid. Oversees the implementation of improved systems, methods and procedures. Coordinates financial activities with the activities of other departments and directs the preparation of annual operating budgets and coordinates preparation of capital improvement budgets. Coordinates with Cash Manager to manage and control disbursement banking, depositing transactions, including investments. Routine analysis of financial records to determine the financial forecast and budget.
Ensures accounting systems are maintained and financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles applicable to governmental and airport entities.

Education and Knowledge:
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college with a degree completion in Accounting or Finance. Knowledge of the principles, practices, rules, regulations and laws related to accounting, budgeting, auditing, purchasing, investments, collections and real property acquisition and disposal. CPA required. Graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or Finance desired.
Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License; must maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) clearance.
Work Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) years experience as the comptroller or financial head of an organization and a well founded reputation in public finance. Airport experience preferred; municipal a must.
Mental Skills:
Must have superior knowledge of business English, grammar composition, office practices and procedures, proficient ability to produce all necessary documents. Critical thinking skills required.
Manual Skills:
Ability to develop and manage advanced Excel operations and applications. Have a working knowledge of Outlook, Word and PowerPoint software.
Physical Effort:
Little required.
Working Conditions:
Works primarily in an office setting under generally favorable working conditions. Work is sedentary; however there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc.
Safety of Others:
Reasonable care.
Public Relations:
Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
Supervisory Skills:
Must have the ability to lead and motivate a staff to accomplish organizational goals. Must also be able to evaluate employee performance and resolve conflict.
