Nashville International Airport - Positively Transformed

BNA Terminal Renovation Information

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) is dedicated to keeping Nashville International Airport's (BNA) customers updated with the latest renovation information.

Phase 1 of the terminal renovation project kicked off in October 2006 and is scheduled to be complete in the first quarter of 2009.

  • This project includes a broad array of local and national name brand restaurants and gift shops; a consolidated, 12-lane passenger security checkpoint; improved flight information displays for arrivals and departures; new skylights; and new floor and wall coverings in areas of construction.
  • This overall terminal transformation ultimately will reveal a premier facility to enhance the passenger experience and provide a wonderful introduction to Music City.

Customers are now enjoying new restaurants and retail shops throughout the terminal, including:

Nashville International Airport's consolidated checkpoint officially opened on July 30, 2008. Prior to consolidation, the security checkpoints processed travelers through a combined total of nine lanes at two separate locations. The consolidated checkpoint increases that number to 12 lanes, which are centrally located on the third floor.

Construction inside the terminal will not impact travel. What you will notice once you enter the terminal are new, large, flight information displays above the ticket counters. These large displays are for departures only. Temporary arrival information displays are located adjacent to the stair/escalators by the Delta and American ticket counters.

Once through passenger security, you may notice temporary dust walls segregating construction and public areas, scaffolding for skylight construction, and temporary signage to help guide you through the terminal. You may occasionally see small construction activity occurring in the corridors of the concourses and areas of concrete flooring without carpet covering. Please watch your step and be careful when encountering such areas. We assure you this inconvenience is necessary to achieve our final transformation.

BNA thanks you in advance for your patience during this construction period.
